CPD News

 

Citizens Academy - The Columbus Police Department Citizens Class will be take place during the month of September.  Those in attendance will be given an inside look into the functioning and operations of the Police Department with each class focusing on a different division of CPD’s arsenal. Instruction will be provided by members of SWAT, Crisis Negotiation, K-9, uniform patrol, investigations, and CSI.  Classes will be held the first four Thursdays of September. Interested individuals must complete and submit an application by August 20th.   The application can be downloaded from columbuspd.com or obtained from the Police Department front desk. For additional information contact the CPD Public Information Officer Joe Richardson at 376-2605. CPD and ME - The Columbus Police Department will once again  host “CPD and Me” also known as National Night Out. This event will be held in the parking lot of the Police Department on August 3rd from 5 till 7:30. Those in attendance will be treated to hotdogs, chips, and beverage for dinner. There will be an abundance of activities for the kids including: jump rooms, demonstrations from the bike patrol, K-9 unit and SWAT in addition to the opportunity to win a new bike donated by our local Target.  For more detailed information, contact the CPD Public Information Officer Joe Richardson at 376-2600. The Teen Driving Course dates for 2010 have been set. The following are the dates: August 28 and September 18. The cost of the class is $50. For more information about this class, click here. To download the registration form from the download center, click here. (03-09-10)

ONLINE FIREARM LICENSING (GUN PERMITS) IS NOW AVAILABLE - This service will be provided by the State of Indiana, but will require finalization with your local police department prior to completion.
